Alejandra Díaz was born in Osorno, Chile. She is a graduated Surgeon and has a subspecialty in Pediatrics from the Universidad de la Frontera, Chile. Likewise, she has specialized in Pediatric Endoscopy and High Therapeutic Endoscopy (Rome, Italy), in Pediatric Gastroenterology and she obtained the title of Expert in Techniques in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Celiac Disease (Valencia, Spain).
Additionally, she has a Master's degree in health management, which allowed her to perform various functions in leadership and management positions of several health services in Chile. She is currently Head of Clinical Management at the Osorno base hospital, where she also works as a Pediatrician in Charge of the Children's Gastroendoscopy unit.
She is an active member of the Chilean Society of Pediatrics and its branch of Gastroenterology and of the Latin American Society of Children's Gastroenterology (LASPGHAN). As a teacher, she has published various publications and she has presented her papers at Latin American conferences.
In 2021 she published her first novel, El libretto (The libretto), in the contemporary romance genre, which became a best-seller and was nominated as a finalist in the Caligrama Awards, where she received the Publisher Weekly mention and also the Best Romantic Novel mention at the ILBA 2022.
In 2022, with Áurea editions, she publishes her second novel, El murmullo de los Perdidos (The Murmur of the Lost), of the magical realism genre. Novel that has a great reception among the reading public and consolidates its literary career by obtaining first place in the International Latino Book Awards 2023, in the Rudolfo Anaya category for the Best Novel Focused on Latinos, thus obtaining the Gold Medal.
She is currently working on the proofreading process for her next novel, which belongs to the contemporary romance genre and aims to be published in 2024.
Since 2023, she has been a member of the "Circle of the 13" working group for the production of a fiction series called Los 13 (The 13), together with the Director & Producer Giuseppe Giacri, as scriptwriter. This project will be developed in a series of 13 chapters of the mystery, suspense, horror and action genre. The chapter is in the development stage and is titled Cerebro imperfecto (Imperfect Brain).
